New Program - Coming Soon!
Find Mental Health Support Where You Are
One of the biggest barriers to accessing mental health support is often time and distance. It can feel overwhelming to visit Counseling and Psychological Services (CAPS) when you are busy with other commitments in your life.
We want to ensure that nothing stands in the way of you getting the help you need for your mental health. That’s why we are excited to announce our new embedded clinician service.
What is Embedded Counseling?
Embedded counseling offers similar services as Counseling and Psychological Services (CAPS), but with clinicians located directly in our buildings across campus.
Our embedded clinicians have the same training and qualifications as the clinicians at CAPS. Just like at our CAPS office, your visits are confidential and protected by state and federal privacy laws.
Benefits of Embedded Counseling
Embedded counseling offers several advantages for you:
- Appointments can be scheduled more conveniently to fit your availability.
- You won’t need to travel to the CAPS office.
- Embedded clinicians have a better understanding of the unique needs and culture within their given areas.
- Faculty and staff have more opportunities to collaborate with embedded clinicians to support students in need.
If an embedded clinician is unavailable, you can still seek assistance at the CAPS office in Watkins Memorial Health Center.
Embedded Counseling Services
Our embedded clinicians can help you with whatever support you need, including:
- Group and workshops
- Individual counseling
- Drop-in support
- Facilitating additional services
