Biography

Sally joined CAPS in March 2025 after spending twelve years at universities in Kansas and Oregon. Sally earned a B.A. in psychology from Lawrence University (Appleton, WI) in 2011, a M.S. in Mental Health Counseling from Emporia State University (Emporia, KS) in 2013 and has been clinically licensed since 2017. She currently holds clinical licenses in both Kansas and Oregon and is a Board-approved clinical supervisor in Kansas.

Sally is passionate about empowering students to engage in healthy, meaningful relationships with themselves and others. Her clinical interests include adjustment during life transitions, interpersonal relationships and communication, and anxiety. Sally utilizes solution-focused brief therapy and cognitive-behavioral therapy when working with students and works to understand students' lived experiences and the issues that impact their daily lives.

Outside of the office, Sally enjoys spending time with her wonderful husband, seeing the world through the eyes of her children, and traveling to her favorite lake to kayak and spend time in the sun. An avid sports fan and lifelong Jayhawk, Sally is thrilled to be back in Lawrence and at the University of Kansas. Rock Chalk!
