Counseling and Psychological Services (CAPS) is looking for dedicated individuals to join us as Mental Health Peer Educators for the 2024-2025 academic year!
As a Mental Health Peer Educator at CAPS, you'll play a vital role in providing outreach and support services to students across the KU-Lawrence campus. From offering peer listening sessions to facilitating educational programs, you'll help raise awareness and promote mental health and wellness within our community.
Job Description:
- Provide support and referrals to CAPS and other campus resources
- Conduct drop-in peer listening sessions
- Assist in outreach efforts and program development
- Collaborate on marketing materials for CAPS
- Receive training in listening skills, program presentation, risk assessment, and more
- Work an average of 10 hours per week with flexible scheduling
- Attend weekly meetings, monthly trainings, and occasional evening/weekend events
- Hourly salary of $12 with an anticipated start date of August 14, 2024

- Enrolled as a student at KU-Lawrence for the 2024-2025 academic year
- Commitment to promoting mental health awareness and supporting fellow students
- Strong communication and interpersonal skills
- Willingness to participate in training and development opportunities
- Ability to maintain confidentiality and professionalism at all times
