  • Experiment Find best study method and location then stick with it
  • Plan ahead for assignments Prioritize assignments by due date and preparation time. By time required to complete them. Plan on 2-3 hours per credit hour per week of studying
  • Use most alert times to study To make your time most productive
  • Get plenty of sleep Aim for at least 8 hours of sleep to adequately rest. This keeps memory and comprehension up
  • Avoid all-nighters So your next day is not worthless due to exhaustion. If you must do so, allow for a nap
  • Don't abuse stimulants to stay awake Can affect test performance, mood and memory. To avoid addiction and withdrawal symptoms.Use mild exercise instead to stay alert
  • Allow short breaks From studying to recharge
  • Skim material To help find main ideas before actually reading
  • Flag major points In material to avoid re-reading
