Biography —
Hi! Welcome to my Bio Page! My name is Taylor, and I am a Doctoral Intern here at CAPS. I graduated from Pepperdine University with a master’s degree in Clinical Psychology with an emphasis in Marriage and Family Therapy. I am currently finishing up my Psy.D degree at Pepperdine as well. My primary clinical focus is performance in sport through positive psychology, as well as improving the overall mental health of clients. As a Doctoral trainee I have gained experience working with athletes and transitional-aged youth dealing with issues of anxiety, depression, PTSD, suicidal ideation, grief, and loss. I also have experience working in trauma. As a Marriage and Family Therapy Trainee, I worked with survivors and perpetrators of sexual assault and domestic abuse.
My therapeutic style is rooted in Cognitive Behavioral Therapy (CBT), a structured, evidence-based approach that focuses on the connection between thoughts, feelings, and behaviors. CBT aims to help clients identify and challenge negative or unhelpful thought patterns, develop healthier ways of thinking, and adopt practical strategies to address emotional and behavioral challenges.
