Biography —
Hello! I am a doctoral intern at CAPS and a doctoral candidate in the Counseling Psychology program at the University of Wisconsin-Milwaukee. Before joining CAPS at KU, I gained valuable experience working at several other university counseling centers. Through these experiences, I developed a strong passion for supporting college students as they navigate the pivotal and transformative stages of their lives. My clinical interests include working with anxiety, depression, adjustment issues, relationship concerns, family-of-origin issues, and identity development.
I view therapy as a collaborative process, where my clients and I embark on a journey together toward growth, healing, and self-discovery. My therapeutic approach integrates psychodynamic psychotherapy, emotionally focused therapy, and interpersonal process therapy. I believe the therapeutic relationship is the agent of change. Through this relationship, I strive to help my clients uncover underlying patterns and understand how their past experiences may influence their current thoughts, feelings, and behaviors. More importantly, I aim to support my clients in gaining new experiences of relating to themselves and others. Together, I will work toward helping my clients break free from the constraints of past experiences and discover new possibilities for growth, connection, and fulfillment.
