Biography

I am a doctoral intern from Kansas City University. I received my Master’s at Kansas City University in Clinical Health Service Psychology in 2022. I have worked in a variety of settings including a forensic psychiatric hospital, private practice, and another university counseling center, and I have experience with a wide range of concerns and diagnoses. I have a passion for working with Anxiety and OCD related disorders and have specialized training in working with disorders of Trichotillomania and Excoriation Disorder. I also have specialized training in Exposure and Response Prevention for Anxiety and OCD.

My therapeutic style is integrated and collaborative in nature. I conceptualize mental health from a Cognitive Behavioral and Interpersonal relationship framework and believe that my role in the therapeutic process is to provide support for my clients as they aim to increase their awareness and understanding of themselves, while also identifying how their thoughts, behaviors, and feelings impact their current experience.  I utilize a variety of therapeutic interventions in sessions including exploring thought and behavior patterns, mindfulness, Acceptance and Commitment Therapy and values exploration, Solution Focused Therapy, progressive muscle relaxation, grounding, and motivational interviewing.

On a personal note, I have a beautiful and rambunctious furbaby, whom I love with my whole heart, love to try new cuisine and experiences, and am a retired collegiate athlete.
