Chris Corbett, PsyD

Dr. Chris Corbett has the privilege of serving as the Director of Counseling and Psychological Services since July 2023.  He has held several roles in college mental health over the years, after completing a Post Doc at the University of South Carolina.  He is a past-president of the American College Counseling Association and former chair of the Higher Education Mental Health Alliance (HEMHA).  He has written and presented on a number of topics relevant to college mental health on the local, regional, and national level.  As a leader, he works with a developmental, holistic and growth-oriented mindset.  He is energized by supporting the growth of CAPS and the larger KU community.  He believes strongly in the work of anti-racism and social justice.  He considers it a privilege to be part of the KU community and as a clinical psychologist believes the best outcomes are achieved by a multidisciplinary, inclusive and diverse approach to health and well-being.

On a personal level, he has the world’s most amazing partner, is the lucky father of three very cool kids and has a house full of furbabies. They share their free time outdoors, learning, creating, and giving back to their community.  As a family, it is their mission to make the world a better place every day.
