CAPS Workshops

CAPS workshops are open to all currently enrolled KU students and can be joined without completing an Initial Consultation with CAPS. Each session will meet once a week for 1 hour for a total of 4 sessions. The workshop will repeat itself every 4 weeks throughout the semester and students can join anytime. Workshop Offerings for Spring 2023

Thriving with Anxiety Workshop - meets Mondays 2:30pm - 3:30pm

Topics covered are:

Four sessions that are designed to teach skills to manage anxiety.

  • Understanding Anxiety
  • Relaxation, Mindfulness, and Self-soothing
  • Addressing Behaviors
  • Managing Anxious Thoughts

Coping Skills Toolbox - meets Wednesdays 3:30pm - 4:30pm (04/05/23 - 04/26/23)

Four sessions that are designed to develop and enhance coping skills using your strengths. Skills will focus on:

  • Tolerating distress without making it worse for you or someone else
  • Managing emotions so your emotions are not managing you
  • Finding mindfulness skills that work for you


The workshop fee is $40 for the 4-session series and must be paid upfront. For financial assistance, students may contact CAPS to ask about the Patient Assistance Fund. Workshops are not therapy and insurance will not cover workshop fees.
